Deep Cleansing Ritual

To clear stagnant energy from a room, a body or an object.

CleansingReleaseHome ProtectionLast Quarter

Purpose

To clear stagnant energy from a room, a body or an object.

When to use it

After illness, argument, house moves, or when a room feels like it is holding something.

MoonMagicx Lunar Method™ phase: Last Quarter.

What you need

• Sea salt

• A bowl of water

• Lavender, hyssop or lemon peel

• A bell, bowl or your own voice

• A white candle

Preparation

Clean physically first — dust, floors, windows. Energetic cleansing works with physical cleaning, never instead of it.

Preparing the space

Begin at the furthest point from the front door and work back toward it.

Opening

Light the candle in the centre of the room. Say: 'What does not belong here, leave now.'

Step by step

1. Add salt and the herb to the water. Stir anticlockwise three times.

2. Move around the room clockwise, flicking water lightly into each corner.

3. Clap, ring or hum in each corner until the sound rings clean rather than dull.

4. Repeat room by room, always finishing at the front door.

5. Open the front door and sweep outward three times with a broom, real or imagined.

6. Close the door. Light incense or place a bowl of salt in the room's centre overnight.

Spoken words

'Out of the corners, out of the walls, out of the floor.

This air is clean. This room is mine.

What left does not return.'

Closing

Snuff the candle. Discard the salt outside. Say: 'Cleared.'

Aftercare

Change one physical thing in the room afterwards — move a chair, add a plant, open a curtain. Energy needs somewhere new to settle.

Reflection

If a room refills quickly, ask what is happening in it rather than repeating the cleansing weekly.

Journal prompts

• What keeps refilling this space?

• What conversation is living in these walls?

• What would make this room feel like mine?

Safety

Ventilate if using smoke. Keep salt water off wooden floors and away from pets.
